New to Columbus: A Journey Forward

Dom: So my wife and I originally from Virginia. We visited my brother-in-law he said, “hey why don’t you guys think about moving to Columbus, Ohio.” Not even an hour, I was like this place is the one for us, and I haven’t looked back.

I’ve been working at Amgen for 18 months, and I’m a facilities engineer. Being from out of town, I made friends here very quickly at work.

In Ohio, the work life balance is amazing. My mom told me sometimes you have to sacrifice location for the job, or sacrifice the job for the location. In Columbus, I have found both.

Being a new dad I want to experience all of it. See that smile?

Dom: The thing that surprised me most about moving to Columbus, Ohio, was how quickly it would feel like home. This is where we knew we wanted to set up our roots, and grow our family.

We can just walk down the sidewalk with her, pop into one of the shops, grab some ice cream. We’re going to have a beautiful life here, but the thing that really makes it is my family, my close friends, and now my neighbors.

I have a fantastic job have a brand new beautiful baby, beautiful wife, and you guys here really make it home. Love you guys!
